I'm Moving!

Hello gorgeous! I want to apologize for having been away. I also want to thank you for sticking with me through all of my slacking! I have a bit of life news I want to share- I'm moving! Now that I'm done with school I'm packing up and peacing out of my mom's :). I'm getting an apartment with my boyfriend in Rochester, NY (he goes to college out there!) five hours away from where I live now. We move in on September 1st and I am so excited to start this new chapter of my life! And just let me tell you, I have never had more fun than buying things for the apartment and planning how I'm going to decorate! I'm a little scatter-brained when it comes to things like that so we'll see how it comes together. And I most definitely want to do an apartment tour once I'm all moved in!

I've lived in the same town all my life and have never been away from my family so this is a huge step for me. But I'm jumping in head first and hoping it will be something of a fun adventure, I hope all of you come along for the ride with me. Congratulations to all of the graduates this year! I hope you're all going to step out of your comfort zone, come fall, and try something completely new to you- as scary as it seems! Love you all, talk soon. xox

L'oreal Root Rescue Review

rr

Wow, that's a mouthful. Hey beauties, I know its been a while but tried a new product yesterday and simply must share it with you! I'm a natural dirty blonde ;) and trying to maintain a color as dark as I've been sporting lately is no east feat. Whenever I dye my hair, it stays fresh and even and lovely for a while, but after about the two week mark the top starts too fade. And when I say fade I mean like ridiculous fadeage; the ends will still be that creamy, dreamy dark, almost black/brown that I love just oh so much, but the the whole top will be almost as light as my natural color. No bueno. It's not even just my roots coming in, its the entire top of my head, almost down to the top of my ears (I'm an aggressive shampooer).

I picked up L'oreal Root Rescue in Dark Brown 4 purely out of curiosity, I've always been interested in root touch up kits so I figured why not give it a go. If it came out bad I could have just gone over it with an all over color. I had several concerns about this product from the start: What if it doesn't match my color? and What if there is not enough product to cover what  need to? My fear of not having enough intensified when I opened the box and saw the bottle. It was small, but let me tell you, this thing packs a punch! I was blown away with how amazing this stuff it. I'm in love, It covered everything I wanted to and then some and couldn't be a better color match. I also love the comb applicator- so easy! Another bonus is that it was totally mess-free, dye didn't go anywhere other than my hair (I credit this to the fucking awesome, precise applicator).

Upon reading reviews on MakeupAlley.com after using it, I was shocked to see that the reviews were overwhelmingly negative. I figured I should throw my opinion out there, because I thought it was a wonderful product and wouldn't want someone else to miss out on it. Complaints were mainly from women looking for gray coverage, so if that's what you're looking for I can't offer an opinion. But if you're in the market for a straight up color touch up, I think It's fabulous! And I most definitely will be repurchasing. 5/5 stars :)

The Bible

I've recently come across (and by recently come across I mean, bought last summer and have just now gotten round to reading) an amazing, new age bible of a book. Ever girl needs to own, or at least read Cosmo's Red-Hot Sex Secrets. Its even better than your monthly fix of the sex loving, gossip filled, fashion forward favorite that is Cosmopolitan magazine.

I found myself in love with the chapter Bed-Me Beauty, which focuses on how to look your sexiest by using makeup. I must admit, I was blown away by the simplicity of it. Their advice? Guys naturally dig big, sexy, sparkling eyes. Use a bronze toned eyeliner long the outer corner of you eye- top and bottom lash line- and smudge it out a bit. Then take an eyeshadow that is the same shade as the eyeliner and sweep it across your lid, bringing it out a bit to create the illusion on bigger eyes. Plus smoky is always sexy in my book. Champagne color on the inner corner, two coats of black mascara and voila! After reading this I simply said to myself.... Why didn't I think of that?! I think as makeup addicts we forget that simple is sexy. I will try to work on achieving this care-free sexy look... but I loves my makeup oh so much!

"From an evolutionary standpoint, big, bright eyes have been one of a woman's most potent seduction tools."

Per advice from the author of this book (whom I only could imagine must be God) I'm going to start playing up lips more.  They suggest tracing just along the outer edges of your lips with a neutral lip liner and then using a rosy-toned lipstick. Pop a shimmering champagne color under the center of your bottom lip and along your cupid's bow. Why didn't anyone tell me makeup could be this easy? They mention a couple of bits and bobs on perfume and hair care. Try to find a perfume that mimics your already alluring natural scent, something sweet and musky (right up my alley!) and always use shine enhancing finishing spray on your hair. Just a couple of steps to sexy, thats all it takes! Please pick up this book, it's definitely worth the splurge and a must have for every girl (I also love the photography in it!). Give it a skim next time you hit Barnes&Noble- you'll be happy you did. It doesn't stop at beauty advice. ;)

Favorite Perfumes Tag!

I'm currently obsessed with watching/reading the "Favorite Perfumes Tag". And I'm always obsessed with perfume, so I figured that even though I wasn't tagged, I might as well give it a go! Here's the lineup:

522383_381956308491058_100000300756825_1221345_1961155135_n

1) What is your favorite winter scent?
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre is easily on of my favorites year round, but I picked it as my favorite winter scent because of its gorgeous, sexy muskiness. Most people find this one more to be a spring/summer scent- probably because of the florals. But the floral notes are more creamy and heady, rather than fresh and clean. Maybe that's why it always seems just perfect, no matter the time of year! And boyfriend just got me a new bottle for Easter- so happy!

2) On a lazy day I reach for...
Victoria's Secret Strawberries and Champagne body spray. I featured the lotion of the same scent in the picture because I keep the spray in my car and I actually crashed my car on Easter... ooops. So I don't have it on hand, but its one of my favorites and just an easy breezy fragrance. Meaning you can chuck in in your bag (or your car in my case) and spritz it whenever, where ever and it's always going to do the trick. Love it.

3) What perfume would you wear on a date?
Probably my favorite question of the tag, as the sexier nighttime fragrances are always my favorites- and that's exactly what you should wear on a date. This was also the easiest to answer, Gucci Guilty is the sexiest fucking thing I've ever smelled. It's also my number one favorite perfume of all time. End of story. It has such notes as pink pepper, peach, lilac, geranium, amber and patchouli. That paired with the advertising campaign just screams sex in gorgeous little bottle.

4) What was your High School signature scent?
Eeek, Jessica Simpson's Fancy. Embarrassing. The most embarrassing part is that I still think it smells pretty good. I went through so many bottles of this stuff, but now I just have the roller ball from an old giftset- I break it out every once it a while. Its basically white flowers, caramel, vanilla and amber. It will be out little secret that I still kind of like it. :)

5) What is your current love?
Easy. Incredible by Victoria's Secret. Smells so amazing and definitely fits in the the sweet musky thing I've got going on in my collection. I can't afford the perfume (it's not very expensive, I'm just broke as a joke) so I just have the lotion for now, but It's on my wishlist for sure! I've just discovered this one but it's already made its way into my top 3, kept company by Gucci Guilty and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. What more can I say? Its love.

6) What is your favorite summer scent?
Flora by Gucci (Gucci makes amazing perfumes. I have four by them and have never been disappointed!). Beautiful floral with some citrus and creaminess. This used to be my absolute favorite, but I think I got a bit tired of it. Nevertheless the scent is amazing and I still love to break it out during the spring and summer months.

7) What is a perfume you regret buying?
Ugh Bvlgari BLV II. I loved this when I got it but I just don't know what I was thinking. It's very jasmine oriented, which simply isn't my taste. It ends up smelling quite masculine on the skin- ick!

8) What perfume is on your wishlist?
Sorry to repeat myself, but I'm going to have to say Victoria's Secret Incredible. I'm that in love with it. Asking for it for the birthday! :)

Those are all of the questions, I would love to hear your answers to them! xo

The Bag

Hello there. Long time, no see. Ooops.

I'm something of a bag whore. And thought I might share the current sack in which I'm hauling my shit around in. I was into big bags forever and just got so tired of them! The one I'm currently favoring is this studded H&M beauty- it's also horribly unphotogenic, sorry about that. Take my word for it, it's fucking adorable in person. I first got this a couple summers ago as I needed a good party bag. If you don't know what the qualifications are for a party bag, here's the basic idea:

Inexpensive. The reason I originally purchased this was because I was paranoid about lugging my LV to sketchy high school parties. You want something that it wont devastate you if it gets lost/stolen/ruined/forgotten.

Cute as fuck. You're looking for something that will look great with a variety of different looks. From floral frocks during the day to something so slutty you wait to change into it in a gas station bathroom so your mom doesn't see you leaving the house in it.

Small. Minimalism is in right now. I can't put myself through one more day of shoulder damage. The problem with big bags is that they're so... big! In turn, you ending up filling them with things you don't need (and in my case, it turns into my own personal garbage can. random papers/wrappers galore.) plus you have to dig through all the unnecessary shit to get to your cell phone every time it's your move on Words with Friends and they get so heavy. Not my cup of tea. Just have the basics.

(PS Bags with long straps are great because you can wear them as a crossbody and have it on you at all times :)

That being said, everyone needs a party bag. Even if you don't find yourself a drunken mess every Friday night, it's still kind of an essential in every girl's wardrobe. A cute wittle bag to keep the basics in. Groundbreaking. :)

Just a little peek at my must haves. Wallet and keys are a given; I like to keep a touch up for powder, lips and nails on me at all times (clearly a necessity); I hoard perfume samples and love to keep them in my bag (currently have Paco Rabanne Lady Million on me- gorgeous!); and right now I am OBSESSED with Incredible by Victoria's Secret so that made the cut. Plus I keep my phone, bobby pins, moist towelettes, emergency tampons and a lighter in the side pocket.

Mine reminds me a bit of one of the lovely Lauren Conrad's staples (good thing she wasn't toting one of her Chanels- she's a drunk mess). Do you have a party bag? Show me what you're carrying around these days. xo

A Fresh Start.

tumblr_lxdumzlxmm1qh21i6o1_500

Hey, remember me? Probably not. Let me introduce myself. My name is Megan, I'm a young person, I'm eighteen years old. I like the pretty things. I'm also madly in love and will be celebrating my six month anniversary on the 18th of this month. Boyfriend is the best thing in my life. He may be the worst driver I've ever had the misfortune of sitting in the passenger seat next to. He may also have spilled soda on the very keyboard I'm using right now but a couple of days ago (making typing this extremely difficult). But he's mine.

I've deleted all of my old posts and am giving this blog something it (and so many other things in my life) need. A fresh start. Be seeing you ;)
